Capabilities
Programmes, not products.
Prosep doesn't sell a catalogue. We engineer a chemical and equipment programme around your plant's systems, risks, and KPIs — then price it transparently against that scope.
Where to start
One water programme, every system on your site.
Industrial water touches everything — the boilers that raise your steam, the towers that reject your heat, the process water that meets your product, and the effluent you return to spec. Treated in isolation, each becomes its own cost and its own risk. Prosep treats them as one connected circuit, engineered around your plant rather than pulled from a catalogue.
Every programme below maps to the same three outcomes: protecting capital assets from scale and corrosion, optimising the water production depends on, and keeping you compliant with DWS discharge limits, SANS 241 potable standards, and SANS 893 Legionella principles. Whether you run a single boiler or a multi-stream site across mining, food and beverage, power, or pharmaceuticals, the starting point is the same — a site assessment, your water sampled, and a scope priced transparently against what it covers.
Our core programmes
Four programmes, one accountable team.
Each is engineered around your plant and proven on site. Open a dedicated page to see how we run it — from assessment to monitoring.
Boiler water treatment
Feedwater engineering, internal chemistry, blowdown control and on-site monitoring.
Explore programmeCooling water treatment
Scale, corrosion and Legionella control dosed to a saturation index we measure on site.
Explore programmeProcess water treatment
Reverse osmosis, RO chemicals, softening and alternative supply, at a defensible cost.
Explore programmeEffluent treatment
Heavy metals removal with EPSE, discharge compliance and water reuse. Proven.

Everything we treat, in one place.
Beyond the four core programmes, the full catalogue of what Prosep supplies and supports across the site water circuit.
Boiler & steam
A boiler pays for every gram of scale in fuel. These programmes manage the whole steam cycle — feedwater quality, internal chemistry and blowdown control — for any site that raises steam, from food plants running package boilers to power stations and sugar mills firing bagasse. The outcome is heat transfer held at design efficiency, tubes protected from oxygen pitting, carryover kept out of the process, and every claim proven with your own plant’s data. Where surfaces have already scaled, a controlled acid clean resets the boiler before the chemistry takes over.

- Boiler acid wash & chemical cleaning
- Anti-scalant & anti-corrosion programmes
- Automatic blowdown & dosing control
Cooling & HVAC
Open towers and closed loops fail differently. Towers scale, foul and grow Legionella; sealed chilled-water loops corrode quietly from the inside as inhibitor depletes. We treat both as one system for factories, commercial buildings, hotels, hospitals and data centres — scale controlled against a saturation index measured on site, corrosion inhibitors held in reserve, and Legionella risk managed working to the principles of SANS 893, with the written records a duty-holder under the OHS Act needs to produce.
- Cooling water treatment
- Legionella risk control (SANS 893 principles)
- Closed-loop & cooling tower management
- Building & HVAC water systems
Process & production
Where water becomes part of the product or the process, quality is a specification, not a nicety. We design, install and run reverse osmosis plants, softening, clarification and potable treatment for manufacturers who need consistent water at a defensible cost — including sites reducing their dependence on an expensive or unreliable municipal supply with borehole treatment, rainwater harvesting or reuse. Where the water must be drinkable, programmes are engineered against SANS 241 with the monitoring to prove it.
Effluent & compliance
What leaves your site is a licence condition. These programmes take complex industrial streams — including dissolved heavy metals, removed with EPSE chemistry, for which Prosep is the appointed South African implementer — to DWS discharge limits, and where the economics allow, back into the plant as reusable water paid for once and used twice. Built for mines, metal processors, chemical plants and food producers whose discharge carries a real compliance risk.
- Effluent & wastewater treatment
- EPSE heavy metals removal & recovery
- Municipal & sewerage treatment chemicals
- Site risk assessments
- Water reuse & recovery
Packaged plants & specialist filtration
Beyond chemistry, Prosep designs and builds treatment plant. Packaged sewage plants run the activated sludge process for municipalities, industrial sites and remote facilities that need reliable sewage treatment services without a municipal connection — designed, built, commissioned and maintained by one team. And where micron-fine solids removal at high flow is the problem, the award-winning, globally patented Baleen self-cleaning filter screens effluent, sewage and process water with no filter media to replace — including recovery duties where the solids are worth money.
Equipment & monitoring
Chemistry only works at the right dose. We supply, install and commission the dosing pumps, controllers and monitoring equipment that hold each setpoint around the clock, then keep every programme honest with routine on-site testing and written reporting against the KPIs we agreed. For plant managers and SHEQ teams, that reporting is the difference between water treatment that is assumed to work and water treatment that is proven to.
- Dosing & control equipment
- On-site monitoring & written reporting
- Water treatment equipment & services
Equipment & control
Chemistry is only half the programme.
Dosing and control equipment, installed and commissioned by our engineers, keeps every programme accurate — with monitoring that proves performance against the KPIs we agreed.
Not sure which programme fits your plant?
That's the point — neither are we, until we've seen it. Book a site assessment and we'll map your systems, sample your water, and tell you exactly what we'd do and what it would cost.
